Job Summary
Horizon Allied Services Mining is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our mining project in Shidan, Somalia. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency and productivity of daily operations, developing operational policies, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing mining operations, particularly in East Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily mining operations to ensure productivity and safety.
- Develop and implement operational policies to enhance efficiency.
- Coordinate communication between departments to align goals.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvements.
- Manage and prepare operational budgets.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Lead and mentor operational staff to drive continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in operational management within the mining industry, preferably in East Africa.
- Strong understanding of mining operations, safety management, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in operational planning and budget management.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
